ManagementRev John Murray – Superintendent/ Executive Director
John McCarthy – General Manager Community ServicesJohn McCarthy joined LIFEWISE in October 2007 to manage the organisation’s existing community services and to lead future service development. John, who started his career as a social worker, has held various senior roles most recently as regional manager for Richmond New Zealand and Director of the SAFE Programme. His extensive experience in the social services sector also extends to previous and current membership of a number of Boards such as Preventing Violence in the Home and NetSafe. As a published author he has also presented at both national and overseas conferences. Bruce Stone – General Manager Property and CommercialBruce Stone, appointed to the position of General Manager - Property & Commercial in April 2008, brings a wealth of experience to Methodist Mission Northern. Bruce has worked at director level for many years within the construction and property industries and also within Central Government agencies. Bruce is a Chartered Accountant and has significant knowledge of commercial and residential property development. Lesley Mynett-Johnson - Development ManagerLesley worked for many years in scientific research following undergraduate studies at the University of Bath and postgraduate studies at the University of Bristol. Her research career involved positions in Australia and then Ireland. On moving to New Zealand in 2000 Lesley switched career paths to fundraising. Previously she has worked as Development Manager for the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland. She joined LIFEWISE's management team in late 2003. SERVICE MANAGERSAndrea Mcleod – LIFEWISE Homecare ServicesA registered general and obstetric nurse by training, Andrea has a wide variety of experience within the New Zealand health sector both as a nurse and as a manager. Her previous experience includes community based services. Most recently Andrea worked as Laboratory Service Manager for Waitemata District Health Board. In March 2006 Andrea joined LIFEWISE as Service Manager of Homecare Services, a community homecare service with over 200 caregivers. Erin Redgrove – LIFEWISE Family ServicesErin began her social work career in refugee resettlement, working with African refugees, mainly from Somalia and Ethiopia. She then moved to care and protection, working for Waitakere Child, Youth & Family Services, initially as a social worker and later as a senior practitioner. A desire to work with families in a slightly different way brought her to LIFEWISE. In 2002 she was appointed as a social work supervisor at the LIFEWISE Family Services, before being promoted to the position of Service Manager in 2003.
Corie Haddock– The LIFEWISE CentreCorie joined Lifewise in March 2008 to lead the reconfiguration of The Lifewise Centre, embedding a strengths-based service model in the former Airedale Community Centre. Corie, who began his career in the engineering industry, completed a degree in Health Science in 2006. Corie has worked in the mental health sector since 2000, managing a range of residential services throughout Auckland.
REV TONY FRANKLIN – PRESBYTER OF AOTEA CHAPELTony became the Presbyter in February 2008, following the completion of his ministry training at Trinity Methodist Theological College in 2007. He has a Bachelor of Theology from the University of Auckland, where he continues post-graduate studies. Tony also brings to his role experience from being involved with Auckland CBD churches: ten years as Chairman of Auckland Community Church, a period as a Vestry member of the Anglican St Matthew-in-the-City, and involvement in the Methodist Auckland Central Parish congregations of Kingsland and Pitt Street. Prior to entering ministry Tony worked as a qualified Chartered Accountant for fourteen years mainly in corporate roles, as well as owning his own business. |
