Donating goods and services

The people we work with need:

• Non perishable food items
• Good quality, warm, clothes (please ensure that they are clean)
• Children’s toys and books
• Books and magazines (for The LIFEWISE Centre)

During the winter months we have an increased need of such items as blankets and thick, warm socks.

Some organizations choose to sell donated goods through their op shops. LIFEWISE does not operate shops, instead we choose to give donated goods directly to those who need them. For example, we distribute free clothing and food to individuals, families and older people in need.

When someone donates an item of specific value it may be more appropriate to sell or auction the item and use the funds to support our work. In such circumstances we would discuss this with the donor and respect their wishes.

We no longer have the ability to store furniture. However we often know of people needing basic household goods and can match donated goods to need. Call (09) 302 5390 to discuss this with us.
